Today I’m going to give you the run down on some of my favorite wedding venues in the Lehigh Valley - just Lehigh Valley wedding venues. I won’t throw in any from distant cities or different states.  This region is my home, and where I’ve officiated more than one hundred weddings. It has amazing places to get married. Aside from offering a wide diversity of settings, atmospheres, and price points, Lehigh Valley wedding venues are all conveniently situated between New York City and Philadelphia, making this area a great intermediate point to bring your guests together.

The largest towns in the Lehigh Valley are Allentown, Bethlehem, and Easton, each surrounded by more rural areas and farmland.  In the cities you’ll find historic properties and boutique hotel venues, while the countryside boasts many rustic barn and vineyard venues that can play host your wedding day.  When considering your options for wedding venues in the Lehigh Valley, you have a wealth of different venue types to choose from.

Whatever you have in mind for your wedding day, the information below will help you select the venue that’s a perfect match. Everything here is based on my opinion and my direct experience at these venues. Don’t miss the information tucked into the “details” drop down menu for each venue!

At the bottom of this post I’ve included a few more ways you might want to search out your perfect Lehigh Valley wedding venue. You’ll find a map showing the locations of each venue included in this blog, an index you can use to see which venues provide the features or services that are most important to you, and finally a gallery featuring the work of talented local wedding photographers who are already familiar with these venues.

And of course, if you already have some idea which venues you’re interested in, the handy jump links right here will take you straight to the entries you want to learn more about.

Allentown Brew Works

Fegley’s Allentown Brew Works weddings ● photo credits: Jordan DeNike Photography (L), PhotoSynthesis Photography (R)

Venue Type: brewery, ballroom, event space Guest Capacity: 180 Vibe: urban, laid back, brews

All the couples who have booked me to officiate their Allentown Brew Works weddings have had a love of beer in common.  Not surprising, right?  But there’s far more than house-made beer to draw you to this downtown Allentown wedding venue.  You get to choose two of their four diverse event spaces to book as part of your wedding package, and you can also opt to continue your after-party on the premises until the place shuts down at 2am!  Event spaces here vary in guest capacity, and each one has its own character.  This isn’t a one-size-fits-all venue.

To top it off, the Allentown Brew Works is one of the few Lehigh Valley wedding venues that has a certified event planner as their events manager.  To have that available to you at a venue that books only one wedding per day is remarkable.  And of course, if you’d like to include a beer-blending ritual within your wedding ceremony, you can choose a light and a dark beer from among the house offerings.  So if you’re looking for a venue that matches your urban and unpretentious sensibilities, this is the place!

What makes this place special:  You have a wide variety of event spaces to choose from at this budget-friendly Lehigh Valley wedding venue, along with the help of a certified event planner on staff.

What this officiant loves about the Allentown Brew Works: It’s is an obvious choice for beer aficionados, and it has a laid-back, unpretentious feel that makes it stand out from other venues.

ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks

ArtsQuest Bethlehem weddings ● Photo credit: Paul Bartholemew

Venue type: Event Center Guest Capacity: 500 Vibe: kinetic, historic-industrial, and well…artsy.

The ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks is an important cultural and historic space in Bethlehem, PA. With an in-house (two screen) cinema and multiple performance areas, it’s not exclusively a wedding venue, though it plays host to many wedding ceremonies and receptions throughout the year.

This unique Lehigh Valley wedding venue offers a blend of indoor and outdoor spaces, all brimming with character.  And the iconic steel stacks that loom over the venue add a statement-making backdrop. The enormous floor-to-ceiling windows that face the blast furnaces, as well as the visible girders, pay homage to the Bethlehem steelmaking history of this site while creating an atmosphere that is at once industrial and warm.

There are many grace notes here and you don’t have to look very hard to find them. Examples include the colorful and intricate blown glass sculpture that represents the four seasons, and the outdoor covered deck that offers superb views of the entire campus and beyond.  ArtsQuest’s event staff stress that there is no cookie-cutter approach when planning your event. They meet your vision and personally help you bring it to life.  All of the weddings that I’ve had the opportunity to officiate here have run very smoothly thanks to these professionals who clearly love what they do.

What makes this place special:  The vibrant artistic ambiance and historic setting.

What this officiant loves about ArtsQuest: Even though you can host a large wedding here, there’s something about this venue which feels like an intimate, boutique space.

The Aster Ballroom

Venue Type: hotel & ballroom Guest Capacity: 200 Vibe: contemporary, elegant, inviting

The Aster Ballroom is a relative newcomer to the Lehigh Valley wedding venue scene, but it’s run with the polish and dedication that only an event staff with decades of experience can provide.  Couples can rely on all sorts of in-house services here to lighten the load of wedding planning.  High-end catering and linens are part of each package, along with full bartending service.  As part of the Hyatt Hotel, the Aster Ballroom also has the added advantage of offering plenty of lodging in generously sized rooms.

You can choose a landscaped outdoor location for your ceremony, knowing there’s a spacious indoor option if the weather chooses not to cooperate.  And the modern design ensures that every space (even the outdoors) is fully accessible for all guests.  This is a relatively rare quality in wedding venues that offer outdoor ceremony spaces.

The ballroom can be configured to host up to 200 of your guests, with a dance floor.  The Aster Ballroom takes on just one wedding per day, so that they can give each couple their undivided care and attention.  Overall, there’s a straightforward elegance here, paired with the quiet competence of professionalism, that makes this a great choice for couples looking for a modern setting and attentive service for their wedding day.

What makes this place special:  The combination of a fresh new space with extremely experienced staff.

What this officiant loves about the Aster Ballroom:  This is one of the top choices for wedding venues in the Lehigh Valley for couples who want someone else to sweat the details so they can simply enjoy themselves.  So much is provided here!

Bear Creek Mountain Resort

Bear Creek Mountain Resort Weddings, photocredits: Blacklevel Photography

Venue type: destination mountain resort Guest Capacity: 250 Vibe: outdoorsy, modern, active

Of all the wedding venues in the Lehigh Valley, Bear Creek Mountain Resort boasts the largest property and most expansive offerings when it comes to onsite amenities.  This venue has it all: mountain views, high levels of personal service, rustic vibes, and the convenience of all-inclusive wedding packages.

The couples I’ve officiated for at Bear Creek told me they were drawn to it for its naturalistic setting, and because everything they were looking for was provided on premises.  Some of them have been quite athletic and these couples loved all the outdoor activities that were available at the Resort.

Tucked up on Doe Mountain, Bear Creek has no comparable wedding venue in the Lehigh Valley.  More than 300 wooded acres, ski slopes, miles of hiking trails, and tennis courts make it unique, and a destination in its own right.  The varied outdoor areas make for truly stunning photo ops in each season too.

What makes this place special:  The great versatility in the size and ambiance of the indoor spaces.

What this officiant loves about Bear Creek:  The stately and beautifully landscaped outdoor ceremony sites.

Bell Gate Farm

Bell Gate Farm weddings photo credits: Bell Gate Farm (L), John Wirick Photography (R)

Venue Type: farm & barn Guest Capacity: 268 Vibe: welcoming, rural but Gatsbyesque

Many wedding venues say that they want to give their couples the feeling of being at home and being taken care of by family.  This is much easier said than done.  At Bell Gate Farm, you can see the thought and planning that brings those goals to reality.

It’s not just that rooms and areas of the property are named for family members, employees, and pets.  Owner Stephanie Stevens believes that delivering the highest service requires undivided attention, so there is only one event per day at Bell Gate Farm.  Each wedding couple and their guests have the entire property to themselves, and the full support of producers who work closely with couples to deliver day-of production.

Guests are encouraged to wander and roam, making full use of the property.  This Coopersburg wedding venue is unusual in offering three already-curated outdoor ceremony spaces to choose from – all lovely!  But you can also choose to create your own space, making it unique to yourself.

What makes this place special:  “The Bell Gate Farm experience” starts with the rich history of the property, a business that truly thinks of their work as a labor of love, and a full production team day-of, ensuring a stress-free day.

What this officiant loves about Bell Gate Farm:  I struggle to do justice to the “Prohibition Room” which was converted from a cow shed into a luxurious amalgamation of comfort and nostalgia with an eclectic mix of antique and contemporary furniture.  Ideal for cocktail hour, it blends Gatsbyesque, gin-joint glamour with vintage steamer trunk vibes.

Brookside Country Club

Brookside Country Club weddings photo credits: Lisa Hornak Photography (L), CAG Photography (R)

Venue Type: country club, ballroom Guest Capacity: 225 Vibe: modern-rural, tasteful

The Brookside Country Club in Macungie offers wedding couples the best of both worlds – it’s in the heart of the Lehigh Valley but feels like a secluded retreat from the hubbub of life.  Modern and elegant, the Brookside Country Club continues to update its space with carefully managed renovations.  The beautiful outdoor ceremony space is an expansive cobblestone patio, framed in the distance by the hills that define the Lehigh Valley.

Focusing on only one event per day, the events staff go above and beyond to ensure that couples feel well taken care of, and to make sure every detail is handled seamlessly.  The ballroom space can be configured to the size of your guest list and has ample room for both dining and dancing.  This Lehigh Valley wedding venue looks good throughout the year, and is well-equipped to handle outdoor ceremonies during the “shoulder months” when the weather can’t be counted on to cooperate.

What makes this place special: A private club atmosphere that is open to non-members.

What this officiant loves about the Brookside Country Club: It already has a lot to offer as a wedding venue, and getting a peek at the renovations that are planned makes me even more excited about what the future holds!

Domaine Pterion Vineyard & Winery

Domaine Pterion weddings ● photo credit: Domaine Pterion

Venue Type: farm & barn, vineyard & winery Guest Capacity: 160 Vibe: breathtaking, historic, rural

As of 2023, Domaine Pterion is a newcomer to the Lehigh Valley wedding venue scene.  Perched atop South Mountain in Macungie, this vineyard and barn estate provides a feeling of being far removed from the city, almost as though you’ve stepped into a corner of French wine country.  The dry, European-style red and white wines they produce here would also give that impression.

And yet the magnificent building that takes pride of place is a piece of Pennsylvania history.  This stunningly renovated barn provides a warm and elegant lounge space on the lower level, and a light-drenched reception space defined by massive wooden beams on the upper level.  No detail has been neglected, and even better, the renovations have made all areas accessible to those with mobility concerns.  Whatever your vision, Domaine Pterion will make a beautiful setting for your wedding.

What makes this place special:  The feeling of seclusion among the gorgeously renovated historic buildings, and beauty everywhere you look.  You’ll want to stay forever!

event center at blue

Venue Type: ballroom & event space Guest Capacity: 400 Vibe: classy, modern, upbeat

Some venues seem like closely held secrets, despite their status as well-seasoned and beautiful event spaces.  The event center at blue is one example.  There’s a lot more here than initially meets the eye as you arrive at this Bethlehem wedding venue.  Not only are there more and larger spaces than you might imagine, but the experience, dedication, and warmth of the events staff also make the event center a stand-out among Lehigh Valley wedding venues.  You have many options here, from a ballroom that can be configured to the size of your large guest list, to more intimate spaces if you are planning a smaller wedding.  There’s also an outdoor courtyard for your ceremony and/or cocktail hour.

Couples praise the event staff here consistently, so you can rely on attentive, responsive, and very professional support and guidance.  There’s a very highly regarded grillhouse restaurant within this property too.  This means that the in-house catering that the event center provides is fine dining level cuisine.  Unlike some ballroom properties, the event center at blue has outdoor areas with great landscaping that add another dimension to the venue.

What makes this place special:  One of the largest capacity wedding venues in the Lehigh Valley.  Top notch catering and very personalized attention from staff.

What this officiant loves about the event center at blue:  The fact that this ballroom venue also has a truly gorgeous patio area that serves as both a ceremony site and a lovely place for your guests to get some air as the sun goes down.

Venue Type: farm & barn Guest Capacity: 200 Vibe: rustic, warm, peaceful

The Farm Bakery & Events wedding venue in Bucks County sits on more than 50 acres of tree-lined fields and farmland.  From bank barns to amazing desserts, from a mobile bar to fire pits and yard games, this place has so much flair to offer couples searching for their Lehigh Valley wedding venue.

Two barns have been beautifully restored and renovated to provide various spaces that feel rustic, modern, sleek, vintage, and like your favorite family backyard.  The gorgeous and historic Seed Barn serves as the main indoor reception area.  The attached large deck can be tented and is great for cocktails.  Guests naturally tend to congregate on the expansive elevated deck overlooking the beautifully landscaped ceremony site.  Their Harvest Barn is fully temperature controlled and they have inclement weather packages.  The lower level of the Harvest Barn can also host cocktails, receptions for smaller weddings, and serve as an indoor ceremony space if needed.

Venue Type: vineyard & winery Guest Capacity: 200 Vibe: Italian villa, expansive grandeur

Of all the wedding venues in the Lehigh Valley, this is the one that will make you feel like you’ve stepped from Pennsylvania farmland, directly onto the grounds of an Italian Villa.  Folino Estate in Kutztown has it all: a wide selection of award-winning wines, multiple indoor areas that are fully temperature controlled, innumerable spots for amazing photo opportunities, experienced and attentive staff to help you bring your wedding vision to light, gourmet cuisine, and a lovely outdoor ceremony site.  There are so many details on this 54-acre vineyard that add ambiance – oak wine barrels, an antique wine press, and high beamed ceilings.  You also benefit from the undivided attention of Folino’s staff on your special day, because they host only one wedding per day.

What makes this place special:  Feels like you’re getting away to Tuscany without leaving the Lehigh Valley. One of the very few vineyard and winery venues in the Lehigh Valley.

Glasbern Inn

Glasbern Inn weddings photo credit Moon Honey Photography

Venue Type: farm & barn, historic inn Guest Capacity: 180 Vibe: hidden, lush, romantic

There’s something about The Glasbern Inn and its setting that’s very difficult to capture in words.  This wedding venue sits in a hidden corner of the western edge of the Lehigh Valley, but it feels as though you’ve stepped into another world – a peaceful, lush, and hidden world, like something out of an old tale.  I’ve officiated many weddings at Glasbern, and yet every time I return, there are new parts of the venue to appreciate.  I don’t know when they’re getting all this work done, but there always seems to be something gorgeous and new on each wedding day.

Aside from the way the many buildings harmonize beautifully with the landscape around them, Glasbern has much to offer as a wedding venue.  For one thing, the staff is long-serving, dedicated, and highly experienced.  They’ve always ensured that things run very smoothly when I’ve officiated here.  Another aspect of Glasbern that makes it stand out is the farm-to-table approach they take to their amazing cuisine.  Many of the ingredients are grown and produced onsite, and what they don’t grow themselves, they do their best to find nearby.  This Fogelsville wedding venue has strong relationships with many local farms.

You have the choice of two different venues within Glasbern for your wedding, both genuinely lovely.  And because this is also an award-winning Historic Inn, you and at least some of your guests can settle in for your wedding weekend.  You’ll have the option for a block of up to 20 rooms.

What makes this place special:  No other Lehigh Valley wedding venue that I know of has such a commitment to locally sourced ingredients.  If this issue matters to you, this is your venue!

What this officiant loves about the Glasbern Inn: Its hidden feeling, and its well-earned reputation as one of the Lehigh Valley’s premier wedding venues.

Historic Americus Hotel

The Historic Americus Hotel weddings ● photo credits: The Historic Americus Hotel

Venue Type: historic hotel, ballroom Guest Capacity: 300 Vibe: elegant, retro, downtown

Historic Americus Hotel is both a venerable institution with nearly a century-long pedigree, and a newly re-opened boutique hotel now serving as a retro wedding venue.  Stepping into the lobby of the Americus, you immediately feel the ambiance of a bygone era.  There are multiple ballroom spaces here to accommodate your wedding ceremony and reception, and you can have most or all of your guests stay at the hotel with you!

The Grand Ballroom here has so many original fixtures from its 1927 opening, and the high ceiling lends a Jazz Age feeling to this space.  The somewhat smaller Skyline ballroom, situated on the 11th floor, has a more intimate feeling, and provides views of all of Allentown.  You can step out onto a balcony for amazing photo opportunities.  These two different spaces mean that the Americus Hotel can offer a range of options for your wedding day.

Whichever space you choose in this downtown Allentown wedding venue, you also get the bonus of being able to continue your wedding day festivities with the use of the elegant lobby as an after-party space.  If a quieter and more intimate space appeals, there’s the mezzanine level overlooking the lobby that’s also an art gallery showing off the work of local painters.

What makes this place special:  There are very few wedding venues in the Lehigh Valley that can transport you back in time while offering so many modern comforts.

What this officiant loves about the Historic Americus Hotel: This Allentown wedding venue combines a regal atmosphere with warm, friendly service, and great cuisine.

This Lehigh Valley wedding venue has everything you could want for your wedding day.  From picturesque rows of grapevines to the majestic oak tree where outdoor ceremonies are held, you’ll be wowed by the tour of the property.  Set in Orefield, on the western side of the Lehigh Valley, Monterre Vineyards has indoor spaces that are both elegant and full of character.

Olde Homestead Golf Club

Old Homestead Golf Club weddings ● photo credit: Olde Homestead Golf Club

Venue Type: farm & barn, golf club • Guest Capacity: 230 • Vibe: expansive, rustic, outdoorsy

The Olde Homestead Golf Club is tucked away in a peaceful corner of the Lehigh Valley.  Lovingly stewarded by nine(!) generations of the same family, the connection and dedication to the beauty of the 250 acres are evident.  For your Olde Homestead wedding, you have a choice of two venues, each with its own outdoor ceremony site.  Both offer expansive views and a feeling of privacy.  And whichever site you choose, you’ll benefit from the care of their genuinely warm and welcoming staff.  The stunning Bank Barn can be dressed up for a rustic-modern wedding, or dressed down for a true country-casual vibe, and can seat up to 230 of your guests.  A smaller guest list might make the Carriage House the natural choice.  Here you’ll find a cozy atmosphere, complete with a dressing suite and full bar!

What makes this venue special:  The open spaces with beautiful views, a sense of privacy, welcoming staff and the lights! Of all local wedding venues, the Olde Homestead has been a family business for the longest time.

What this officiant loves about the Olde Homestead: This venue’s way with string lights is one of my strongest impressions of this wedding venue, along with the warmth of the staff.  From the Magic Tree, which glows at night with thousands of colored strands, to the Edison lights which bring an elegant vintage glow to the reception spaces, they have elevated this simple piece of décor to an art form.

This charming Bethlehem wedding venue has a special character that stems from its origin as a rambling family home.  Built at the turn of the 20th century, The Sayre Mansion Inn perches atop Fountain Hill and provides a very special ambiance for your wedding day.  Many wedding venues promise that you can make the place your own, and they mean that so far as décor goes.  At Sayre Mansion, you not only get to decorate as you wish.  You also have the option to settle in, and make the mansion your home base for yourself and quite a few of your guests.

Only one event per day is ever scheduled at the Sayre Mansion, so you can be sure you will benefit from the staff’s full attention.  This Lehigh Valley wedding venue offers a rare degree of versatility.  As a wedding venue, it has a distinctive flow from one cozy space to the next that feels different from most venues that are designed and built as event spaces.

What makes this place special:  What the staff at Sayre Mansion love best is to see their wedding couples take over the Inn and use it for its intended purpose, which is to gather family together and make memories.

What this officiant loves about this venue:  So far as I know, The Sayre Mansion is unique among Lehigh Valley wedding venues in that it was originally a family home.  And the ‘homey-ness’ here lends an unmistakable warmth and character you won’t find elsewhere.

Vault 634

Venue Type: historic event space • Guest Capacity: 200 • Vibe: opulent, gilded age, intimate

For most wedding venues in the Lehigh Valley, there is at least one roughly comparable venue.  If you found your date was unavailable at a particular venue, in most cases there’s a similar one I could recommend.  That’s simply not true when it comes to Vault 634.  You need only take one step into this downtown Allentown wedding venue to know you’re in a special place.  It has wow factors for days and undeniable glamor. It's not unusual for New Yorkers to travel here to take advantage of this unique ambiance, and the incredibly high level of service.

But – I hasten to add – there is absolutely nothing elitist about Vault 634.  The staff draw on more than 20 years of experience to create an atmosphere that is inclusive and welcoming to all.  As they say, “everyone belongs here.”  Their wedding packages are very nearly all-inclusive.  You won’t be quoted a base price only to see the figure rise as you secure what you really want for your wedding day.  From the antique stained-glass ceiling, to the crystal chandeliers, to the massive vintage bank vaults that give the venue its name, all the way down to the subterranean speakeasy, and perhaps most of all the cuisine - everything about Vault 634 distinguishes it.  If turn-of-the-century elegance is the feeling you want, this is the wedding venue for you!

What makes this place special:  The staff at Vault 634 take an above-and-beyond approach to serving their couples.  While the space is luxurious and bespoke, this wedding venue is also absolutely welcoming and approachable.

What this officiant loves about this venue:  There is nothing comparable to Vault 634 in the Lehigh Valley.  I don’t use the word lightly, but this is a unique wedding venue.

Venue Type: boutique hotel • Guest Capacity: 200 • Vibe: luxurious, historic, clean lines

The Wilbur Mansion, a family-owned and -operated venue in the heart of Bethlehem, has SO much to offer couples.  Most of all it puts its foot forward with an unmistakably warm and caring approach to their events.  In terms of the space, up to 250 of your guests can be hosted in the newly-renovated Event Center.  The white oak floors and understated, modern feel provide a canvas for you to bring your wedding vision to life.  Here you’ll find large windows that flood the room with natural light, helping blend the line between indoor and outdoor spaces at the Mansion.  The Event Patio leads you out to the Wilbur Lawn, where your ceremony can be held against a beautifully landscaped backdrop.

What makes this place stand out: In addition to the stellar cuisine offered by the in-house catering, a wonderful bonus are the nine boutique guest rooms within the Mansion.  These luxurious spaces blend historic tilework and woodwork with beautiful modern renovations.

What this officiant loves about this venue:  You’ll have to think carefully about who gets a shot at the room block!

Venue type:  ballroom, hotel & casino • Guest Capacity:  1900 • Vibe: retro-modern, upscale, decadent

Another Lehigh Valley wedding venue that’s new to the scene in 2023, Wind Creek Bethlehem offers an exceptional range of amenities and the largest guest capacity in the Valley.  Situated in the heart of the old Bethlehem Steel factory grounds, everything here has been made new.  And while this venue is just taking its place among Lehigh Valley venues, they are staffed with event planners who have long years of experience with weddings to draw on, to ensure that you’re in good hands on your special day.

Wind Creek has so much to offer that it’s difficult to know where to start.  From the grand Foundry Ballroom that can be configured for weddings of almost any size, to the jazz age vibes of Molten Lounge, where you can continue your afterparty into the wee hours, to the Casino, and in-house spa, and onto the numerous amenities that only a flagship facility can offer, there are a great many reasons to choose this venue for your Lehigh Valley wedding.  What Wind Creek Bethlehem offers more than any other venue is having literally everything available to you and your guests under one roof.

What makes this place special:  The unmatched range of amenities and the capacity to host nearly two thousand guests.

What this officiant loves about this venue:  Wind Creek Bethlehem pulls off a clean and modern vibe that somehow hearkens back to the grandeur of earlier ages.

What makes these Lehigh Valley wedding venues special?

I love all of these Lehigh Valley wedding venues, where I’ve officiated many heartfelt wedding ceremonies. But why did I choose to feature these particular venues? I have not received any payment or compensation for including them here. Aside from just appreciating them personally, there are three important details about them that I want to highlight:

  • To the best of my knowledge, they are ALL fully LGBTQ+ welcoming.

  • The vendor recommendations they provide are made on the basis of merit, not paid advertising.

  • When I officiate wedding ceremonies at these venues, there’s no added travel fee.

Because these are local wedding venues for me, I know them well. And they are close enough to my home that my travel time to reach them is half an hour or less. That means that my travel to these Lehigh Valley wedding venues is included as part of my Signature Ceremony Service.

If you’re looking around the Lehigh Valley for your wedding venue, finding your officiant probably isn’t top of your list at the moment. But when you’re ready, I would be thrilled to chat with you about your ceremony. Find out more about my Lehigh Valley wedding officiant services, and if you think we’d be a good fit please reach out and we can arrange a no-obligation discovery call.
