Hotel du Village

Venue type: boutique hotel & historic property Guest Capacity: 240 Vibe: romantic, secluded, refined

Sitting just a little distance from downtown, the Hotel du Village is the most alluringly tucked-away New Hope wedding venue I know of. There’s a feeling of stepping into another realm here, perhaps a French countryside estate from a bygone century. The couples I’ve worked with at the Hotel du Village told me they chose it for the combination of gorgeous interior spaces and the natural, outdoorsy elements it also boasts.  One couple especially loved the broad lawn flanked by photogenic gardens for the location of their ceremony.

This magnificent property has long been part of local history, having been a girls’ boarding school a century ago, as well as a highly-regarded restaurant. The renovations here have meticulously preserved the historic character of the property, while creating many different spaces that can play host to an amazing wedding celebration.

Nothing is done by halves here.  Every accent is tasteful, every room well-appointed.  And every interaction I’ve had with the staff of Hotel du Village has been professional and warm, showing me why this is a premiere New Hope wedding venue.

What makes this place special:  The careful stewardship that creates a feeling of opulent seclusion and history.  You’ll never want to leave!

What this officiant loves about the Hotel du Village:  It doesn’t matter where you turn your gaze here, it’s all breathtakingly beautiful!

Logan Inn

Venue type: Historic Inn Guest Capacity: 150 Vibe: sophisticated but fun, historic

In a town recognized as one of the country’s most picturesque suburbs, it’s easy to run out of superlatives when describing some of the places that contribute to that overall ambiance. It’s not just that the Logan Inn first opened in 1727; there’s a custom and authentic feeling to everything here that distinguishes this New Hope wedding venue.

There are many varied spaces here, each with their own charm.  From the asymmetrical ballroom, to huge roaring fireplaces, to the farm-to-table approach with their cuisine, the Logan Inn’s faithfulness to its own roots creates a very memorable experience for couples.  It’s also one of the few venues I know of that will schedule a morning wedding – a special callout to an earlier age.

No other wedding venue in New Hope can boast that it’s included as a stop on the town’s Ghost Tour.  That’s right, some believe that the Logan Inn has a resident friendly spirit!  Emily, the mother of a past owner of the Inn has a room named for her, where she lived in the last years of her life. Visitors and staff alike have reported feeling her protective presence over the years.

The couples I’ve officiated for at the Logan Inn told me that they were drawn by the mixture of fun and formal elements of the venue.  They loved the historic significance of this New Hope venue and how different it felt from others they considered.  They also shared with me that they felt welcomed by the helpful and informative staff when first touring the Inn, and that those they worked with were attentive to their needs right through their wedding day - and beyond.

What makes this place special:  The Logan Inn is one of the five oldest continually operating inns in the US.  It has long-tenured staff, and a resident friendly ghost!

What this officiant loves about the Logan Inn:  It’s rare to find a historic space renovated in such a way that it preserves the character of the centuries while creating a fresh and cozy atmosphere.

River House at Odette’s

Venue type: boutique hotel & ballroom Guest Capacity: 180 Vibe: indulgent, classy, vintage

Although River House at Odette’s is the most recently opened among the wedding venues of New Hope, it’s quite evident they’re not playing catch-up. This venue brings their A-game to each wedding. The couples I’ve officiated for here told me they were drawn to this New Hope venue for its modern rustic charm, the ceremony site that overlooks the water, and the graceful old willow tree that forms part of the backdrop. One couple shared that they compared River House at Odette’s to some venues in New York City, and felt that River House blew away the competition.

All the New Hope wedding venues I know of cater to medium-sized guest lists. Of these, River House at Odette’s can accommodate the largest number – 180 guests, and by 2025 they’ll be able to accommodate as many as 200. Set just a little way from downtown, everything you could need for a perfect weekend getaway from either Philadelphia or the Big Apple is on offer here.  And because they book just one wedding per day, you can count on River House at Odette’s dedicated staff giving their undivided attention to your special day.

There’s a unique combination of respect for history and elegant refurbishment here, with so many luxurious grace notes.  Like their artful chandeliers, old school brick and fieldstone architecture, and the all-season veranda.  As a wedding officiant I particularly love that there are two dramatic outdoor ceremony sites to choose from, as well as an indoor space for contingencies.

What makes this place special:  The blending of indoor and outdoor spaces in each season, and the calls back to a bygone era.

What this officiant loves about River House at Odette’s:  The riverside view is spectacular no matter where you are - from the dramatic outdoor ceremony sites, to the covered veranda, to the reception area with the floor-to-ceiling windows, to the rooftop!

Stella of New Hope

Venue type: boutique hotel & fine dining restaurant Guest Capacity: 140 Vibe: upscale but laid back, modern

The biggest mistake I’ve ever made as an officiant at Stella of New Hope was showing up at this venue on a nearly empty stomach.  I eat lightly before officiating, but the first time I pulled in to park at Stella, I was hit with a wave of deliriously tempting kitchen aromas.  I couldn’t believe how delicious it smelled, and I feared my stomach might growl throughout the ceremony.

Stella is the New Hope wedding venue that feels the most down-to-earth to me.  They pull off the challenging combination of fresh but not over-styled, achieving a welcoming homeyness.  Of all the wedding venues in New Hope, only Stella sits immediately on the Delaware River.  The sunny lawn of their outdoor ceremony site allows you to have that amazing view as the backdrop for your “I do’s.”

The couples who have asked me to officiate their weddings at Stella chose it as their venue for its scenic river view, and for its relaxed atmosphere. One of them shared with me that they wanted a location where they and their guests could feel comfortable, and I saw that decision pay off.  All the couples I worked with at this venue self-identified as foodies too, saying that the fine dining level menu was a big draw for them.

What makes this place special:  Stella is the only wedding venue in New Hope situated directly on the riverfront.

What this officiant loves about this venue:  The energetic and professional wedding support staff at this New Hope venue have taken great care of the couples whose weddings I’ve officiated here.

What makes these New Hope wedding venues so special?

These gorgeous New Hope wedding venues aren’t far from my home. I’ve officiated numerous wedding ceremonies in these places, so I know them well. But why did I choose to write about them? I have not received any payment or compensation for including them here. Aside from appreciating them both personally and professionally, there are three important factors that make me happy to shout about them:

  • To the best of my knowledge, they are ALL fully LGBTQ+ inclusive and welcoming.

  • The vendor recommendations they provide to couples are made on the basis of merit, rather than paid advertising.

  • Couples I’ve officiated for at these venues have consistently told me they’ve been well taken care of by the staff.

If you’re planning to marry at a New Hope wedding venue, I would be thrilled to be your officiant. When you’re ready, learn more about my wedding officiant services.
